Course Outline:
Introduction to the sewing machine, safety, key components equipment suitable to use with each machine
Sewing tools
Tips and tricks for successful sewing
Patterns, measuring, sewing terms
Steps to making a lined beginners bag

For students to develop knowledge and feel comfortable using their machine

What to bring:
All students need to bring their machine unless they need to use one of the college machines if they don’t have their own, their machine instruction manual, one spool of Guttermann Polyester cotton a bobbin that belongs to their machine. Also, bring glass head pins a notepad and pen to write down notes. Make sure you have packed the foot petal for your machine. If you do not have your instruction manual, please download it online or contact the tutor before the class at fabricstreet@outlook.com

I also enjoy teaching children’s classes and providing guidance to HSC students as they embark on their final textiles projects. My journey has been enriched by owning and operating my own sewing store. To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.

West side of Jannali, closest cross street is Louise Street. There is free onsite parking available and ample on road parking (not metered) if the car park is full.
Public Transport
From Jannali Station walk to the West side along Jannali railway (heading towards Sutherland), the fourth street on the right is Louise Street. Jannali Centre is at the end of Louise Street
Other Information
Accessible toilet and ground floor wheelchair access available Monday – Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, see Reception for directions to room. After hours and weekends look for the Site Co-ordinator for room directions. Onsite Cafe open Monday to Friday 8:00am-3:00pm, Sat 8:30am – 1:30pm. Outside these hours there are drink/snack vending machines onsite.
