Leaving a Bequest to SGSCC disAbility
Leaving a bequest in your will is a gift that will help people with a disability who are supported by SGSCC disAbility.
A gift in your will for will help us to continue to provide the multitude of services required to enhance people’s lives so that they may live it to their fullest and achieve goals they never thought possible.
SGSCC disAbility provides high quality support to people with a disability. We are committed to assisting people by providing support based on individual choice and control. Through our person-centred-practice model we are able to focus on an individual’s unique gifts and talents when designing support programs. Bequests will be allocated in a way that ensures the greatest needs of our clients are met.

Bequests can be small or large and everything in-between and will make a huge difference to the lives of the people we support.
Most bequests are made by ordinary, hard-working people who want to make a positive difference to their community.
Leaving a gift in your will is a simple process that can assist us to provide ongoing support to people with a disability.
A bequest is a specific gift of assets or belongings through your will. There are four major types of bequests:
- A percentage bequest: this can be any percentage of your total estate up to 100%. This enables you to share your estate among several people or organisations without specifying property or amounts.
- A pecuniary bequest: this is a gift of a fixed sum of money to a person or organisation.
- A residual bequest: with this type of bequest a person or organisation receives the balance of the estate after those specifically named in your will have been provided for.
- A specific bequest: this type of bequest enables a donor to leave a specific amount of other asset (such as a property) to an organisation.
We recommend that you speak with a solicitor or trustee company to ensure that your wishes are properly expressed using the suggested legal wording for your will, as per below:
“… to be used for the general purposes of benefitting people with disabilities who are supported by SGSCC disAbility under St George & Sutherland Community College Incorporated (ABN:89 753 440 576) and I direct that the receipt of the public officer or other proper person for the time being of this organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my trustee for the payment of such benefit.”
