Audio visual aids, games and role play are used to facilitate the diverse learning methods.
SGSCC Beginners Language courses are Entry Level, meaning no prior knowledge is required. These courses are geared to the potential tourist, business person and those wishing to improve communication with friends or family who have non-English speaking background.

About the tutor:
Dr. Janine Burns received her Italian Honours degree at the University of Sydney, where she also obtained her PhD from the Department of Oriental Languages and Cultures. Janine is a fluent Italian and Mandarin Chinese speaker and spent several years living in Rome and Beijing. Being a non-native speaker Janine has a strong appreciation of the challenges that students may have when they first begin learning a new language.
Arsenia – Arsenia Neirotti was born in Torino, Italy, where she also completed her studies. She has a great passion for the Italian language which she enjoys sharing with her students. Her love for her language prompted her to specialise in Adult Education and has been teaching at the SGSCC for the past 28 years. Her main interests are Italian Renaissance Art and Opera which she has enthusiastically presented in her Italian Culture workshops. Arsenia firmly believes that learning should be fun at any age so join her and have a great time.

To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.

Learn Italian for Beginners - Part 1

Public Transport
From Jannali Station walk to the West side along Jannali railway (heading towards Sutherland), the fourth street on the right is Louise Street. Jannali Centre is at the end of Louise Street
