The focus is refining conversation’s skills and use of grammar. Fluency and understanding of Italian culture and literature, the ability to discuss a wide range of life topics "Italian style "with the use of idiomatic expressions is the main objective of this course.

Level 9+, approximately 4 1/2 year’s prior learning of the language necessary.

Course Outline:

• At this level the emphasis is on conversation.
• The topics are mostly chosen by the students according to their likings and interests.
• We explore Italian literature, music, art, discuss the Great Masters, composers, explorers, travel, history and more.
• We learn Italian songs and watch Italian films.
• Some grammar is still included and the use of the subjunctive encouraged.

Learning Outcomes:

• A more refined and ever more fluent conversation.
• Students are thrilled to be able to read the Italian classics in the original language they were written.
• They also create and write some very interesting stories and poems of their own.

About the tutor:

Arsenia Neirotti was born in Torino, Italy, where she also completed her studies.
She has a great passion for the Italian language which she enjoys sharing with her students. Her love for her language prompted her to specialise in Adult Education and has been teaching at the SGSCC for the past 28 years.
Her main interests are Italian Renaissance Art and Opera which she has enthusiastically presented in her Italian Culture workshops.
Arsenia firmly believes that learning should be fun at any age so join her and have a great time.
