Our private one on one sewing lessons are perfect for a variety of sewing needs, they are catered to what you want to get out of sewing and the class time is allocated 100% to you.
Outcomes:
Below are some examples of why students book private lessons:
If you have purchased a new sewing machine and would like to learn how to use it and get the most out of all the functions. A lot of sewers are only using 10% of their machine functions and still do not know the potential their machine has, which limits their sewing skills.
These lessons are also perfect if you are an HSC textiles student wanting to get some guidance in mapping out your textiles major work and portfolio. This allows you to be organised throughout the creation of your major work whilst completing your portfolio at the same time to prevent you from getting to the end when it’s due and being overwhelmed. We highly recommend this for HSC students, and booking in early in the year is important rather than at the end when students are overwhelmed by all different assessments.
If you are a current sewer and would like to expand on your sewing skills and sew with other mediums such as leather, lace, silk, etc. You may also want to build on your techniques such as using specialty sewing feet such as invisible zippers, rolled hem foot, bias binding foot ETC. If you feel you are sewing the same thing over and over, book in a private lesson and we can help you expand your sewing skills.
What to bring:
Sewing machine
Foot pedal
Instruction manual
Scissors
Pins
Some scrap cotton or calico 25cm
You will also need to bring some polyester Gutterman thread and an empty bobbin that belongs to your machine type
How to book:
Please phone the College on 9528 3344 to discuss times and bookings.
Please Note: $95 per hour (minimum two-hour booking)
