Computer Basics 2 St George & Sutherland Community College

Computer Basics 2

This course will allow you to apply and expand on the knowledge gained in Computer Basics 1. You will learn how to search the Web using Microsoft Edge and how Copyright Laws affect what you can download. We will do a brief revision of the most important components in a Computer before we apply this knowledge to the process of selecting a Desktop, Laptop or Tablet to suit your needs. If you already have your own device, we will review your device’s features and determine whether it will be able to run the software programs you wish to use. We will discuss the different software contained in MS Office and their uses. Finally, we will look at computer security.

Basic understanding of PCs is assumed.

Please bring your own Laptop or Tablet if you have one.
