The program is for persons with an intellectual disability. This course runs for 2 hours per week and is run from our Jannali site.

Course Outline:

• Introductions and overview of class objectives
• Safety practices and setting up a productive workspace
• Choosing personalized sewing projects based on individual interests
• Guidance on selecting suitable materials and color combinations

About the Facilitator:

Jen has been passionate about sewing from a young age, initially learning the craft from her mother, an accomplished seamstress, and later honing her skills through formal training. With over two decades of teaching experience at the college, Jen brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her sewing classes. Over the years, she has created everything from simple crafts to intricate dance costumes, and she loves sharing this wide-ranging experience with her students.

Her teaching approach encourages creativity and independence, guiding students as they select and complete their own sewing projects. Her supportive and patient manner allows students of all skill levels to develop their abilities while producing beautiful and unique creations. Jen’s commitment to her craft and to her students makes her a valued and inspiring instructor.
