Have you ever watched or heard guitar playing and thought “I would like to be able to do that”? The Beginners Guitar Course at SGSCC is designed for beginners who would like to take the first step in learning how to play the guitar or for those that would like to resume the journey. Previous musical knowledge or experience requirements are not required, the course welcomes all levels of beginners.

This may be your first step in acquiring guitar playing skills so all that is required is a love and appreciation of music and a desire to be able to play guitar.

Join an intimate group of like-minded people to be taught by an enthusiastic, patient and supportive tutor in a fun and relaxed setting. Every guitar learning journey starts at the beginning. So come along, meet new people and have some fun while learning the fundamentals of guitar.

• Learn basic chords
• Learn to read chord charts
• Learn to read guitar TAB
• Learn rhythm and strumming patterns
• Investigate song structures and their various elements

About the Tutor:

'Playing and learning the guitar has been a long and enjoyable ride throughout my life. From practicing in my bedroom to playing in a band in front of family and friends in garages and back yard parties to performing at various live venues.

I have found the guitar to be a great source of relaxation and learning the guitar has been one of my proudest achievements. As an experienced player and tutor and I have managed to pass on my skills to many students, family, friends and my own children.

The lessons are held in a patient and supportive environment, and I appreciate that every student as an individual has their own learning abilities and needs.

• To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
• All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
