In a unique & comprehensive Action Photography field trip at Shep’s Mound, Mascot, learn comprehensive camera set up, how to photograph the constant flow of colourful and variations of different aircraft, that taxi & take off every few minutes including; action peak – freezing the moment, and capturing a sequence.

This field trip has a maximum of 6 students for a greater learning experience, and more one on one time with the Tutor.
Skill Level:
This field trip is suitable for students who have a thorough working knowledge of their camera and controls, shutter and aperture settings and or have completed either a; Beginner’s Photography Course or similar , Basic DSLR / Digital Photography Course or similar.

Ear Safety
Please bring EAR protection
noise cancelling over ear or in ear headphones,
over ear noise protection, in ear noise protection etc
(cotton wool, etc not recommended)
Camera Equipment;
Any adjustable digital camera; DSLR / Four Thirds / Mirrorless with;
RAW / JPEG image capability
adjustable ISO / film speed settings
with adjustable exposure settings; shutter, aperture, and manual exposure i.e. S or TV, A or AV, and M
with manual / autofocus capability
also if your camera has adjustable picture control/picture style settings i.e. monochrome standard, neutral, etc
A spare camera body / compact camera only if you have one
PLEASE NOTE:
Batterie(s) fully charged x 2 if you have them
Memory card(s) 2 or 3 if you have them
Filter(s) only of you have any of the following;
A circular polarizing filter known as a CPL can help you get more colour and depth – is very helpful but not necessary.
If you have a suitable teleconverter, ie 1.4x or 2x etc, for extra reach, bring that too.
Lens(es)
Please note; any range from wide to standard, but especially telephoto to super telephoto lenses are strongly recommended, including zoom lenses.
If you are not sure about lens selection the Tutor, will be able to help you via email, prior to the field trip.
ZOOM Lenses:
If you have any focal length lenses, they are strongly recommended and will also be the most useful;
Please note zoom lenses i.e 55 – 200 , 100 – 400 , 70 – 200, 150 – 600,
Prime lenses Short telephoto 85mm, 105 mm, 135mm 200mm, all the way up to super telephoto 400mm, 500mm, 600mm lenses etc, any of these will be very helpful to get you a lot closer, especially on The Mound.

Tripod use is allowed for this field trip
Set up will be under Tutor supervision (low – non-trafficked areas for your safety, and public safety)

With over 50+ years of experience in Photography including; 9+ years as a Photography Tutor, and 20+ years of digital Photography and post processing. I am now a Professional Photography Tutor, teaching all levels of Photography at SGSCC.
I am passionate about Photography and love to teach and share both classic and modern Photography techniques, and believe it is the most significant visual medium on this planet.

- To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
- All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
